I was at Sears Essentials and saw the 2011 Topps Series 1 Baseball card packs. There were no price tags on the packs so I asked the cashier for the price. $5. Five bucks for a standard pack of cards? This ain’t no premium series. It’s Topps’ standard issue series. It’s unfortunate that you can’t get a pack of cards for under $2. It’d be nice if they sold cards with simple designs on cheap (yet thick) card stock with basic photos for 50 cents a pack. Five bucks is way too much. It’s sad.
Try Topps Opening Day series. It’s not the official annual full series. But the 7-card pack costs $1. I am planning on buying an entire box and mailing a pack to each of my baseball friends.
Why did you pick Clay Hensley to represent the expensive cost of the 2011 Topps?
Clay Hensley was selected simply because it’s a nice-looking card. The pitcher’s stretch mirrors the banner treatment containing his name. Though I don’t like how the horizon line on the photo is crooked.
i ssee the banner as more like a bounce, not a stretch. Can you find a card where someone is bouncing?
The Carlos Marmol card in 2011 Topps Opening Day is cool. http://wrigleywax.blogspot.com/2011/03/opening-day-2011-cubs.html
