I think the rest of the design was intended to be “boring”. It contrasts the crazy, organic shape smack-dab in the middle of the shelf.
I think it’s cool. The dude is sitting IN the shelf. He is one with the book he is reading… literally.

I think it looks cool. Young toddlers would love that little space! But it better have great cushions for the butt, I imagine it would start to hurt after a while if it doesn’t have good cushions! hehehe.
Is it some sort of rocket ship that will take you other worlds?
Granted the shape in the middle is [i]kinda[/i] cool, but the rest of the design couldn’t be more boring! “Here is a box with some shelves. The End”.
