ebay bet II has begun. Matt Maldre and I have decided to sequelize the storied ebay bet. Laura Kesselring has a link to it. And Matt has a link to it.
If you do a search on Google for “erik maldre”, those blasted links show up as #4 and #8. Laura and Matt destroyed me. I must regain my honor. Oh… backstepping… Years ago, Laura, Matt, and I placed a bet on who could sell the most art on ebay in a one year period. Laura sold over $150. Matt sold about $40. I actually wound up losing $1.20 because no one bought the two pieces I put on ebay. The buck twenty was the cost for posting those two auctions on ebay.
Matt and I have decided to begin ebay bet II today! Official rules of the EBAY BET ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS WESLEYAN ART GRADUATES states that a majority vote is required to initiate the ebay bet.
Matt and Laura won’t know what hit them. I will pummel them with great force. A force so forceful that they will be forced to forcefully laminate in defeat.

I hope your showing in the last eBay bet doesn’t haunt you this time around and prevent you from putting lots of art up on eBay … two pieces won’t cut it this time, Erik

So for now laura remains champion. She will always remain the first champion of the EBAY BET ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS WESLEYAN ART GRADUATES. But one year from now, we may have a new champion. But who knows? Maybe she’ll sell one work of art for $5,000 leaving us all in a stupor.

to beat me, you have to make more $ than i did. how did i do it? i worked hard and was unique, that’s how. i DO have a backlog of unsold art, but can’t be bothered to auction it off right now.

Laura also won because she continually put items up for auction! I can’t tell you how many days during the last bet I waited for unlikelymoose to post something. As a bidder/buyer, I was ready to support all three participants, but it became clear that Laura was in the bet 100% from the gecko. This could be the determining factor of the winner [if the bet ever comes to fruition] in ebay bet II

erik had 2 pieces total up last time. so that means that tom waited 358 days for new yikesmoose art. poor tom! the reward for your suffering was a houseful of artLaura originals. 🙂
Damn straight! And I love it! My two favorites are the collage/oil paintings. One of these days you’ll have to come over and see how great they look hanging on my walls.
I have a bunch of Matt’s photography too which also looks great, but I’m not so sure any of it was won through the ebay auctions.
As a precursor to ebay bet II, I would love to see some art-ful pinbacks and t-shirts.
i bought a Laura original. However, the apartment people lost it, so I never got to enjoy the piece. (This was back when I was at the Elmhurst Terrace apartments.) I was very sad.
