Chicago River Y logo graphic meaning

Hey Chicagoans, here’s a little factoid you may not be aware of. Look around the city for municipal seals, logos and the such. There’s a good chance you’ll see a “Y” shape. That graphic actually represents the three branches of the Chicago River! It’s also in the Chicago Theater marquee.

The Chicago Public LIbrary logo shown above is a 2007 redesign of the Library’s previous seal. Landor Associates developed this brand.
