I'll make it short and edited. I found a dead small raccoon near the groundhog hole under our deck. I figured the mom groundhog was protecting its baby. So I called the Elmhurst police to drop off an animal trap to nab the groundhog. We didn't have the trap out for more than 3 hours and we caught a raccoon. I suppose it's for the coon's own good that he gets moved away from our backyard. State laws dictate that the raccoon can't be killed, just relocated.
