HELP SUPPORT THE LUCKY CUBS BRICK

With the current renovations being made to Wrigley Field and the surrounding area, the Chicago Cubs are offering fans the opportunity to get their very own 4" x 8" personalized brick to be placed somewhere around Wrigley. The full story can be found on the Cubs' website.

Hi, my name is Erik Maldre. I have been a die-hard Cubs fan my entire life. I have celebrated countless great Cubs moments like Luis Salazar belly flopping into second base. I have the photo somewhere. It's great. I have also personally witnessed Doug Dascenzo striking out Barry Bonds in a blow-out game. Who can't love that! I was also fortunate enough to have family bleacher seats for the doubleheader where the Cubs clinched the 2003 NL Central Division title. I'm sad to see the family bleachers go away with the new renovations. Those were the best seats in the park.

However, I'm excited to see some of the new renovations in and around Wrigley such as the Wrigley Field Commemorative Paver program. I have decided to participate in this program. The inscription on my brick is the following:

RUB THIS BRICK
AND THE CUBS
WILL WIN TODAY

I am calling this brick the "Lucky Cubs Brick". What else? I hope this brick will become an instant institution of Wrigley Field; a classic, a landmark because of the many wins it will bring our once-troubled Cubs team. People will visit the Lucky Cubs Brick before each home game in hopes of a Cubs victory leading them ever closer to a World Series Championship. The Cubs need all the luck they can get, right?

So, in the spirit of supporting the Chicago Cubs (and in efforts of keeping my wallet happy) I'm offering you, Cubs fans of the world, this unique opportunity to be a part of The Lucky Cubs Brick. I'm accepting donations to help pay for this brick. The brick took $160 out of my wallet. Any dollar amount is appreciated. Let's share in the fun! Every time you go to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, You will have the distinct honor of telling your friends and family that you helped pay for the Lucky Cubs Brick and helped bring a World Championship to the North Side of Chicago. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that!
