This original painting is from the series, "Lincoln's Contemporaries, Cartoon Style" which features portraits of figures who lived in the time of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. Isaac Arnold, a lawyer who was one of Honest Abe Lincoln's earliest biographers Contemporary biographer Isaac Arnold wrote of Abraham Lincoln: "In conversation he was most interesting. Few were so well informed and fewer still so original, so impressive, and so fascinating. On every subject he had something new and striking to say; and with this there was so much genial humor, that he was attractive beyond comparison." "His illustrations were often quaint and homely, but always clear and apt, and generally conclusive....His wit and humor, and inexhaustible stories of anecdote, always to the point, added immensely to his power as a jury advocate." |

About Erik Maldre:
|
Twenty-nine year-old Erik was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. He also studied at Beverly Montessori School at ages 4 and 5. Looking at the designs of the flags from around the world was his favorite thing to do (in addition to playing with Lincoln Logs); which laid the groundwork for his life in art and design.
