CHRIST BLOCKS
1997

silver gelatin prints of wood carving from computer monitor, wood, screws, nails

This is the follow-up piece of "Remembering Christ's Constraint" (which was a follow-up of "Cleave the Darkness".)
I wanted this piece to have a strong sculptural tie to Romanesque architecture. I did this by the use of repeating wooden square blocks at varying degrees of depth.

The image is a series of photographs taken of a computer monitor. The image on the monitor was a wood carving. This wood carving and it's computer inputation (scan) was used on "Cleave the Darkness".
