Unicron in my boiler room

It’s been about two weeks since I decided to post photos to my Flickr account on a regular basis and I’m still going strong. I’m happy with the latest installment. I took some standard studio shots of a 2.5″ figure of Unicron, the ultimate planet-consuming Transformer. After the shoot, I was looking for a home for Uni and he found a nice spot in my boiler room and seen in this photo. My boiler room is crammed full of all sorts of goodies and turns out to be a great location to stage some photographs. Look for more of those to come in the future.

I’d like this shot alot better with the astronaut out of the way. I see the humor you are trying to achieve with unicron attacking the astronaut. But the astronaut totally ruins the aestheticness of the photo. Who’s the main subject of the shot? Unicron. But visually, the astronaut is just so dominant. Take out the astronaut and you still have a striking photo with Unicron reigning supreme above a box of nails.

I have to agree with Spud. While the thought behind placing the astronaut in front of Unicron is good in theory, I think the color of the astronauts suit as well as the American flag steal the viewers attention. This causes a lack of attention on Unicron himself, and I think he was meant to be the center of attention in the shot.

and since when does unicron come across people that are the same size as him? He attacks planets that size, not people.

Was there any intended symbolism in putting Unicron on top of the box of nails? Nails are used to build and/or create things and thus are a symbol of construction. Unicron is obviously a symbol of destruction as he destroys planets and the like. I thought maybe you were making a point by putting him on top of the nails… as if to say Destruction was triumphant over Construction.

Of course I could be reading way too much into this!!!
