the new Frank Gehry building

The Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation

lotsa glass. that’s nice. I’d like to see Gehry’s future work evolve more in this direction.

The supports in the model look like their made of wood. I’m sure they will be steel. However, aethestically, I like the raw wood and glass better than metal and glass.

Wood and glass look very nice at a small scale such as this. However, if you saw this building in real life, you’d want it to be made of metal and glass. A life-sized wood and glass building would be very unstable, and look like some crapped-out art piece.

How funny you make a blog post (and comments) about wanting to see wooden skyscrapers in Chicago. TODAY is the 135th anniversary of the Chicago fire. You know what really got the chicago fire going?–all the wooden buildings in chicago. So uh yeah, let’s build some wooden skyscrapers and have a second chicago fire.

Are all of Gehry’s works that dominated by glass?

Nice design, but it seems very heavy on form and not so much on function.

It reminds me of your drawings.
