Terry Borders wireframe sculptures

Terry Border of Indianapolis has a bunch of fun and thoughtful wire sculptures. Check out his blog. The image i choose for this blog post isn’t that much “fun”, but I thought it told a very strong story.

The piece itself is very nice, but I also like the lighting, shadows, and quality of the photo. Good stuff.

He does indeed have very nice work. Especially this piece. The wireframes give a light airy feel which complements the subject matter of the kite. Although I wonder what the dude would look like in a heavy material like concrete–only to enforce this lightness intoxicated state. It’ll make your mind go weee and floating, but it’ll make your body into a slab of concrete. I was going to say the same thing Mark did about the actual photograph.

I used to bend stovepipe wire into words and shapes and put them on do-’em-yerself greeting cards. It was fun!

That is an awesome wire sculpture. It’s stuff like that they make me wish I was more creative. Best I could come up with was a bent spoon.
