London Gate

Simply brilliant. We need more of these exact same gates around the world. It activates the air space and encourages engagement with the surrounding environment in a simple, simple, yet dynamic way.

It is simply called “London Gate” and is the winning entry by Rotterdam studio, Donis, in a competition to design a temporary landmark for Aldgate, east London to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games.

The London Gate height is 100 meters (328 feet 1 inch) tall by 12 meters (39 feet 4.4 inches) wide.
