Congrats to London for being awarded the host of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games!
When I was in London, they had “Back the Bid” advertising everywhere! Posters were plastered throughout the Tube. Busses and taxis were completely painted with the 2012 London Olympics logo. They even had Back the Bid stitched on the Underground seats. Of course I have over 250 photos from my trip to London and I don’t have the photo online of the Back the Bid seats!
The posters were really cool. I tried taking one from the Underground, but they have them behind steel frame things. The posters you see above are missing all the official logos and even the fonts used in the headline treatment. I downloaded them from the BT Design Group’s site They designed the posters.
Congratulations, London! Too bad the food will suck!

I think Tom was quoting something recent in the news. I also heard someone on WGN Radio make a joke about how London food sucks.
Why is the font different in the Horse poster?
i noticed the different font as well. looks like Trebuchet/Gill Sans vs. Helvetica-ish.

After having just returned from Dublin I can say that the food there does NOT suck. My comment was reactionary more than anything. It seemed from an IM conversation with a friend. Because it’s in london, and seeing that england is a major base for croquet, perhaps croquet will be an official sport that year! Time to get your wicket on!
Is croquet not an Olympic sport? It should be! I would love to see that!
