world's largest truck

With the view from my cubicle, I can see a lot of cars and trucks driving down Route 83. So, I was curious. I searched on google images for "really big truck". And I came across the Liebherr T 282B.

The photo shown above is the Liebherr T 282. (not T 282B). I like the photo of the non-B better so that's why I'm showing it. Just look how small that person is next to the tire. Apparently the T 282 wasn't big enough so they built the T 282B.

Let's compare the Liebherr T282B to my Mazda 3:

weight
T282B: 203 tons
Mazda3: 2.5 tons

height
T282B: 24 feet 3 inches
Mazda3: 4 feet 10 inches

width:
T282B: 21 feet 8 inches
Mazda3: 6 feet 9 inches

towing capacity:
T282B: 365 tons
Mazda3: unknown

Liebherr sells a few dozen of them every year, primarily to coal, copper, iron and gold mines in the USA, Chile, South Africa and Australia.

The standard US Interstate highway width is 12 feet. The T282B would not fit on a two-lane highway! It needs three lanes to fit! I'd love seeing this beast drive down Route 83 one day.

Are you sure the picture above isn't of the T282B??? The sign over the tires says T282B. Just curious.

I would like to see pictures of the Terex Titan that was built in the 1970's. There was a link for it on that Wikipedia page for the T282B. the Titan was even bigger but it sounds as if they only made 1 of them. Cool stuff.

It's got to be a real pain to park this baby at the mall.

Mark, your comment is funny. llol. It shouldn't be too hard to park it, because you can just crush all the other cars and park ON TOP of them. It's the ultimate parking machine. Rock star spots every time!
