relief wall tile from any digital file

take photo, make tile. neat.

The satelite photo is a great effect. photo-form.com has other examples which aren't nearly as impressive.

What else would make a cool tile?

I'd like to see old British crests.

How about sewer covers?

sewer covers! excellent, Tom! The relief pattern in sewer covers would translate PERFECTLY to this medium.

Waffles.

first sewer covers, then waffles. That's two homeruns in a row!

Waffles are squares like the tiles. The Waffle tile could be a golden yellow too. That would be very Jeff Koons-esque. (Jeff Koons made a life-size replica of an inflatable raft out of copper. It was the most popular piece in the MCA-Chicago for a long time.)

I was earlier at a blog of an MIT grad student that had a sort of ceiling fan gadget, two wheels which rotated oppositely. A video link was included. The link to the blog is in my communities; click on Cati's b&w pic to get there.
