olympic committe visits chicago

This week, members of the U.S. Olympic Committee will visit Chicago to evaluate Chicago's venues and plans for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Billboards went up this weekend around the Loop and t-shirts will be available. Ooohh baby, I need one of thems. Full story here at abc7.

LET'S STIR THE SOUL, CHICAGO! (Chicago's motto for their Olympic bid is "Stir the Soul". It's a bit cheesey, but it cuts the chase.)

"Stir the Soul" probably comes from the famous Daniel Burnham quote, "Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will not die, but long after we are gone be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistence."

-Daniel Burnham, 1910

I would love to volunteer at some point, though now that I'm thinking about it I probably should have volunteered before the committee came to Chicago this week.

What happened to my comment from yesterday? It was posted and appeared on the site, but now it is totally gone.
