I like the dark gray felt look that's going on over at designglut.com. There's some design decisions on their masthead that I'm not 100% happy about, but I really like the overall feel of the textures. A year ago I was going to use dark, dark gray felt for my design portfolio, but wound up going with a metal case and custom-made sanded black boards and archival library book tape. The dark gray felt wound up being used as wrapping paper for Christmas gifts to my siblings.
