When does that bridge transform into a robot?

Here's a wild bridge. There's about 6 photos at this link. It looks like something out of Fisher Price. It certainly has a presence. I can't decide if its clunkiness is charming or dumpy. It's located in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Clearly the Dutch know how to build bridges given their geographic conditions. I wonder what the Dutch think about it.

As the city with the most movable bridges in the world, Chicago NEEDS to get one of these bridges. It's a MUST. I bet if Mayor Daley saw this, he would fill up with such envy, that Chicago would get one STAT.

Oooooh. I live within walking distance of Salt Creek. They should put this bridge on Salt Creek. Though there's no boat traffic on the Creek, so I guess this bridge wouldn't really have any function. But it sure would be neat to see it do its thing.
