i love artifacts in webcams

My brother shared with me the "Swan Cam" from Schaumburg, Illinois. During the day you can see some park where I guess swans hang out. But at night is when the real magic begins. I love the compressed data artifacting that goes on at night from this webcam. It's a visual delight. I took a screen capture of it and completely blew out the detail with the brightness/contrast tool in Photoshop. It makes for a fun texture. Above is the image with a bit of cropping.

It's like.. a rainbow vomited on a swan.

Digital artifacts are much more lively than analog noise or static.

I have not seen the swan cam at night. For the past three days I've been loading it during the day at work, so I have an idea what the weather is like. Today the sky is clear. So far I've seen someone mowing the lawn. Someone with an edge clipper. One person walked by. Two people sat down for a little bit. I have not seen any swans yet. Oh wait, maybe I do. Off in the distance there are some birds. Those are probably the swans. They must be afraid of the camera, cuz they dont' come close.
