Looking for a way to throw away $200? Then buy the John McCain Nautical Lapel Pin from McCain's very own website.
Each flag is intended to represent the initials of Big Mac: "J"ohn "S"idney "M"cCain. However, their nautical symbolism goes deeper than just initials:
J - Juliet -I am on fire and have dangerous cargo on board: keep well clear of me, or I am leaking dangerous cargo.
S - Sierra - My vessel is stopped and making no way through the water.
I was gonna buy one of those pins, but then I saw the price tag. OUCH. It's very republican of him to sell a pin for $200. Total elitist. "Oh look at me! I spent $200 on this pin, because I have so much money to burn, and I support John McCain."
that was first blogged by me on Daily Kos, picked up by John Cole (with link back to DK) and I also wrote a later version in the link above.
Not cool to take someone else's ideas w/o attribution. If you took the Cathy from Encino comment off the McCain website, that was me as well. Again, always give credit, even if the website got scrubbed.
Madhaus, I apologize if you are the originator of this blog post. I came across this story on another blog who credited a blog that linked to another blog that credited another blog that linked your blog and I was a bit disappointed that your blog had no visuals to accompany the post. You now have credit in the post, but the link you provided doesn't have any mention of the McCain pin, but I give the link that you provided in your blog comment.
It's been about five minutes since I lef the previous comment about Madhaus' story not having the visual of the pin. And that the link he provided didn't even mention the story. But I visit the link now and the story is front and center complete with visual. I apologize, Madhaus for any confusion. Again, you are given credit in the blog entry.
