bare bones speed-priority OS

It’s 2009 and I feel like my computer is just as slow as it was in 1999 (both work and home computers). Surely there’s a ton of things I can do now that wasn’t possible in 1999. Even basic features like OS X’s hot corners weren’t around ten years ago. But, it’s a fact that it takes at least 3 times as long to shut down my computer and even doing very basic functions takes just as long now as it did back in the day. There’s times I wish my OS was bare bones OS 8 style and was built strictly for speed and not be bogged down with all the cutesy bells and whistles. I suppose I’m talking like a Linux user now. Oh well.

You would not like your computer to crash as much as it did in 1999. It was not unsual in those days to have to reboot yoru computer five times in one day. I’m glad those days are behind us. Now if I have to reboot my computer, it’s very very unusual.
