2002 Christmas card

2002 Christmas card

Snowflakes and cinderblocks are great contrasting elements. One is heavy and rigid. The other is light and delicate. Yet they also tie together in that they are monochromatic.

I wanted the cinderblocks to be shown at different angles to add some visual interest. While setting up the cinderblocks, I decided to keep my hands in the photo. Along with the strong, direct lighting, this approach gives the card a Bauhaus collage feel.

I snuck in a self-portrait in the upper-left corner.
