BUCKINGHAM PALACE PHOTO huge crowds I don't mean to disrespect the Royal Army, but as a visitor to London, I must say that the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace is the most over-rated activity. There are simply too many tourists for the event. We arrived 45 minutes early. The place was packed. We were lucky enough to see the guards walk in. Once they went beyond the iron fence, we could see only the tops of their fuzzy hats. Then the band played show tunes for 30+ minutes. We decided to leave.
